'We performed a comedy sketch show about the environment for the whole school. I was nervous as first but I knew if I made a mistake I could laugh about it afterwards. I learned loads about how to care for the environment and learning about it was really funny.'
Liam Dean, 15, Elton High School

'The workshops are really good, it's brought me out of my shell and I'm more confident speaking in public. Attending the workshops is a great opportunity for young people as it keeps us off the streets and not drinking.'
Becky Gunning, 15, Audenshaw

'At key stage 4 one of the most important things is passing on life skills, and the comedy course addresses some of the most essential life skills you can get, one of the things they do is talk about dealing with hecklers, and that's a great lesson in dealing with conflict situations and remaining calm. Also, a lot of the things that stand-up addresses - sexuality, sexual health, drinking and drugs - are the things that we want to talk to them about, but there's no way they would sit still for a lecture.'
