Weekend Courses
Square Peg Workshops run weekend comedy courses all over the UK = covering comedy writing, sketches, stand-up and 'Who's Line Is It Anyway' comedy improvisation skills. The course runs over Saturday and Sunday and includes light refreshments. We also offer relaxed residential weekend comedy courses in picturesque locations around England, Scotland and Wales, including accommodation, meals and a healthy helping of laughter and comedy.
Women's Courses
Missing Rib Ticklers
Our very popular 10 week comedy course for women is run from our base in Manchester. The course covers stand-up, sketches and improvisation and concludes with a graduation gig for the fantastic Laughing Cows Comedy Night. All course facilitators are professionals from the comedy world. Graduates of our Missing Rib Ticklers course have gone on to perform at various comedy festivals, become regular faces on the comedy circuit and hit the finals of comedy competitions including: Funny Women, So You Think You're Funny and Laughing Horse New Acts. The course includes Q and A sessions with some significant voices in comedy today, previous speakers include: Baby Cow, Hattrick North and Sarah Millican.
Kids Courses
Our ever popular Saturday classes are expanding from Bolton to Salford and Rossendale. Children over the age of seven are welcome to learn stand-up, sketches, comedy characterisation, joke making, comedy improvisation and much more. Our comedy sessions with children are not only focused on comedy but also confidence building, prompting natural public speaking, making friends and having lots of fun. The sessions run from term to term and include two big comedy shows per year which the children and young people are encouraged to perform and devise in.
